Q.Email setting of IMAP
You can use IMAP on Ochanoko email.
To do so, please select IMAP in server account, and set 993 in port number on your email software receive setting.
The other settings like mail server name, user name, and password are same as POP3.
Please note that there is a possibility that whole emails may be deleted completely from email server by the email software operation, as it is different to POP3.
If you use IMAP, please read the attention notification below and if you are familiar with the email software specifications, you can use it.
Please pay attention that it is not possible to restore deleted emails if you delete them by accident.
If you would like to save emails on your PC, or if you are not familiar with the email system, we recommend that you use POP3.
- IMAP reads emails which are on the mail server, so that emails are left continuously. Additionally, emails which are in the sent folder and trash folder are also saved on the server.
Please delete unnecessary emails on a regular basis so as not to overloaded the system (100MB). - On some of email software like Thunderbird, it is possible to read emails which are deleted (depends on settings), but these emails will be deleted on the server side on a regular basis. Please be careful in this case.
- Emails which are moved to certain folders except for main folder (inbox), are not received on POP3. If you would like to receive on POP3, please move the emails to inbox folder.
- There is a possibility that it will take some time for the email to be reflected on email software with IMAP, Please confirm it later. On some email software, it will be reflected by renewal, optimization, and restoration of folders.
